Hi,

Just a reader here. I realized as I was listening to you, how different it is for me in my writing poetry process, then it is for you

writing a novel. Poetry comes at odd times of the day, a couple of lines. I won't write it down then.

When the other lines start coming in, I have to stop what I'm doing and finish it. This is awkward sometimes. When I was in college taking writing courses, I wrote my autobiography. The professor said he wanted to know more; it was too short. Recently, a friend of mine wanted me to write longer poems, like he does. I'm thinking: What is that? needing more or less words. Poetry, to me, is about saying something, without saying it, with images, bare bones. I guess I would now think of it as hiding behind the images. I just now realized this. WOW.

So appreciate your dedication and stick-to-itvness. And your ability to open yourself up and pick it apart. Thanks! Am really looking forward to reading it.

Thank you Linda!

After getting the story down it becomes a slog

The novel sounds like a runner. Fair play. I’ve been working on mine for three years and I’m only at 20,000+ words. Spelling doesn’t matter. Creativity trumps spelling every time.

The building sounds good. Utility bills, insurance and salaries were our biggest overheads in running a school.

Thanks Kay! The story arc is done. I stripped back many sections to bare bones so I can build on it it. Early reviews from some friends is that it’s a difficult read in a good way but some transitions are hard to keep up with.

Hi Peter,

Just listened to your podcast on the Course update and novel update. I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed listening to it because it brought back memories of what more or less my life has been like. I'm currently trying to gather all of the documentation I have so far for my memoir. I have my late husband's book that is finished, it just needs to get into the hands of Literary agents, being that he was a commercial and film director, a lot of clearances are needed to be taken care of. But, it's a hell of a read! He was so well known that a lot of people would love to hear his life story and how he started off being who he was when he was still with us. I also have my mom's life story that I documented every morning for four hours a day and finally put it together within one year. I did send it to a Boston reporter who was a friend of my husband. He was amazed at how I was able to turn all of the questions I asked my mom every day, and was able to turn them into a normal read instead of just question and answers. Sorry, I got off the subject, but when I heard you, Peter, talking about the life you lead, it was kind of similar to the two books that need to be edited and published. I find your life fascinating and I do think you should finally reveal it to your audience. I would stand in line for a copy or pre-order it now! That's how interesting I find your life to be. It overwhelms me when I listen to you describe the kind of day you have every day of the week! You're always running from one place to another. I'm always so enticed about what kind of day you've had. You accomplish so much it's unbelievable!

So, Peter, please open your course, which I think is going to be a hit because you're so good with children. Also, please finish your book. You are a wonderful storyteller. I'm sorry for this humungous comment.Hi Peter,
